Exploring Veganism with Food Artist and Bakery Founder Pamela Wasabi

Living a "plant-based lifestyle" of veganism involves purchasing goods made from renewable plant materials, producing your own food or using only vegan products and cosmetics created from all-natural ingredients. With a growing interest in plant-based diets and vegan lifestyles, we sat down with founder of Pamela Wasabi Bakery and vegan food artist, Pamela Wasabi, who hopes the future of veganism is more inclusive and will lead others to a more conscientious lifestyle overall.

Q: Pamela, you are known to be a food artist. Tell us where the artistry in creating your baked goods comes into play.

PW: Art has to be approached from a place of curiosity and innocence - let the process of creation surprise you.

Q: As a female entrepreneur, how do you support other women-led businesses?

PW: I support any human-led business whose intention is to be of service to this world.

Q: Seeing as a vegan diet caters to a smaller demographic, how do you think business can make vegan products more inclusive?

PW: It’s an option that’s been offered. Ultimately, it’s a choice that the customer has to make for themselves. As a plant-based business, what we are demonstrating is the incredible amount of abundance and choices that are available to us.

Q: How has your background impacted your recipes or approach to creating a successful business?

PW: My business is an expression of who I am - with my failures and successes.

Q: As a Latina, how do your creations celebrate your culture?

PW: I celebrate my totality every single day.

Q: In your opinion, what is your most delectable offering?

PW: Lavender Heaven Cookie!

Q: How does your role as a mother impact your business and your lifestyle, if at all?

PW: You realize the interconnectivity of it all. My business and my lifestyle are one and the same.
